And there was silence…
I’m not sure what to do with myself after the frenzy of the transfer window, I think the amount of updates I was trying to keep track of on Twitter gave me epilepsy. It was, however, the first transfer window where Twitter really took hold. Previously we were limited to whatever bollocks us fans could dig up, but with pretty much all the top football journos around the country now tweeting their brains out we were able to get news and rumour in droves and normally before even their own publications had a chance to put up the story. I didn’t need to watch Sky, I didn’t need to follow any transfer live blogs, I just fired up Tweetdeck and let my brain absorb what it could. Add in the ever-growing list of footballers signing up and we’re entering a new age of transparency in football, not just what the news channels or tabloids decide they want us to see.
This weekend’s matches will be a cracker for one reason and one reason only, Chelsea vs Liverpool. I can only attribute the fact that this match comes so soon on the fixture list after their mega-transfers to either some kind of massive conspiracy theory or, more likely, the true existence of Football Gods. I mean how else can this possibly come right after such a specific transfer!? Chance!? Bollocks to that!
The first SU book is still shaping up nicely, taking a little bit longer as I finally located the original 100 Studs Up comics in high resolution format and have to add them in. I was so disappointed when I thought they had disappeared as that early stuff obviously has a lot of nostalgia for me personally, and probably for you guys who have been reading since the beginning. But they’re found, and will be included! Just need to sort out the commentary now.
Oh, and then there’s this.
