No they’re saying Mel-boo-urns.
After some 40 odd hours of travel I landed in Melbourne safe and sound and spent the last couple days seeing loads of family and filling up on great food. First meal, flake and chips – a childhood favourite of mine and the first thing I seek out upon returning to Oceana. If you haven’t had flake, I implore you to seek it out for it is SHARK. Yes, that’s right, SHARK. In addition to being a terror of the sea, shark is incredibly delicious. A sort of meatier, gamier white fish with a distinct flavour which, I won’t lie, allows for a smug satisfaction that comes with eating one of the planet’s most dangerous predators. I like to imagine it’s a Great White I’m chomping on, one that had attacked me while I was going for a swim; forcing me to choke it with my bare hands. In reality it’s usually nothing of the sort. Despite all my trips to Oz I don’t think I’ve ever made it out to Phillip Island, even as a kid. What’s there, you ask? Well… hopefully the website is self explanatory.
Although between the travel, all the running about and a heavy bout of jetlag kicking in, I’m feeling a bit loopy. The bizarre gap between World Cup and new league season has never felt so empty, a dearth of transfer news and the continual decline of entertaining personalities amongst managers being primary culprits. How can we go from Rafa to Roy and expect anywhere near the same level of hilarity? I live in hope.
