World Cup and Wong Wong

It’s finally here and even the Football Gods’ attempts to injure every interesting player hasn’t dampened my enthusiasm, the biggest conundrum is deciding where to watch. I decided to come to New York for the tournament as there’s an unprecedented level of interest and fanfare this time around, so I thought it a unique experience. Pubs are showing the games, of course, but guys like Nike are putting on events at hotels while others are creating faux-outdoor stadiums with big screens for the public to watch.

Should be good, if you’re in NYC feel free to shoot me an email and let me know where you’ll be watching.

In other news, got a nice little package from Stephen Wong – the man behind the Wong Wong cashmere football scarves and an utterly tremendous World Cup collaboration with Happy Socks.

The scarves are a wonderfully soft cashmere, rare amongst the itchy-as-f*** standard football scarf options. They also feature a lovely bit of double entendre which can be tucked away for quiet satisfaction with the appropriate fold while wearing. The socks are top quality as well – as expected if you’ve ever worn Happy Socks (they are all I wear these days).

Pics below and check out the full range of scarves at the Wong Wong shop.
