As I mentioned the other day, Nike previewed their epic 3 minute World Cup ad to their Facebook fans a full two days before it airs during the Champions League final. If you follow Nike’s TV marketing, I don’t need to give you any reason why you have to watch the below. If their regular stuff is good, think of what goes into a once-every-four-year advertising opportunity.

In short, it is epic. It is f***ing epic. I will say epic about 10 more times.

The emotion and epicness of the video is what I’ve come to expect from their advertising now, and for some reason I even welled up during the montage of Rooney chasing down Ribery. I’ve found that while no amount of romance or death in film or TV can move me, but tug on the ol’ sporting heart strings and I’ll be fighting back the sobs.

But it’s the cameo appearances that make this particular ad, I won’t ruin it for you. Just watch…
