More new toys, hooray

I love stuff. New stuff is an especially good kind of stuff. From clothes to tech to video games to actual toys, I’m a less a consumer than a rabid devourer. If I could bottle and wear “new boots smell” I certainly would, the same applies to “new leather smell” and possibly even “new pants smell”. Definitely have to be new on that last one.

My latest come courtesy from my friends at Nike once again. They invited me down to an event at their 21 Mercer store to preview the upcoming “Six Collaborations” Nike Sportswear series that taps artists from six nations to create a collection of football-minded clothes, accessories and shoes. I first saw a sneak peek at the Nike Innovation event in London and it was pretty cool to see the full range of some of the collection. Check out this full write-up on all the collaborations, my personal favourite are these Raceday Duffle bags (especially the yellow/black by South African artist Kronk):

Sadly I wasn’t able to pick one up at the event, which was insanely crowded, but they did hook me up with a pair of Dunks High AC from the South Africa collection. I think the green’ll look great once it gets a bit scuffed up and worn in.

Update: Just spotted this vid over at TOW and had to post it. It’s a collaboration between Nike and a Korean outfit called Sticky Monster Lab. It is brilliant.
