A quick left, a fast right

I know some people have been having trouble getting to the comics on M/W/F and are timing out when accessing the page. This is due to the fact that Studs Up has become popular enough where my server can no longer handle the load! So great news on the one hand, annoying on the other! I think I’ve found a good solution and will upgrade my setup in the next few days. I’ll post another announcement to let you guys know when to expect seamless comic access at all times… HUZZAH!

So you guys really seem to be enjoying the first two parts of “Wizard of Coz“, which I’m super happy about. I’ve gotten a load of emails and plenty of good guesses as to what might be happening next, so I’m excited to show you guys the next part tomorrow. I know the topical stuff is the bread and butter, but its really nice to explore a longer storyline like this from time to time and I’m going to try and do so more regularly.

My friends over at skateboarding mag SNEEZE asked if I’d help put out a call for some talented writers to contribute to their rather awesome publication. If you haven’t seen it, SNEEZE is a pretty unique offering. Big format, loads of top class photography and the idea is to present skateboarding culture in a different way as well as rope in other topics to find common ground. Their next issue centers around the World Cup, so I told them the best place to do an open call would be my old site CaughtOffside. So if you’re an aspiring or current writer looking for a really unique opportunity, check out the details here.

Lastly, I recent came across the Street Etiquette guys via GQ.com and while their look is a tad too… bold… for what I go for in my own day-to-day, I do appreciate the sartorial excellence in their efforts. In fact, it’s quite similar to the Sartorialist only with a more editorial slant from the two chaps who run it. The guys take some serious risks with their look but somehow it works, I think the confidence they show is part of how they manage to pull it off. If you look nervous while wearing a tie, suspenders, and little hat, you will look like an ass clown.
