It’s a privelege and a joy to have been able to work Papa Bouba Diop into not one, but two comics thus far. I only hope the big man sticks around a little longer, but I’ll always have a soft spot for him regardless. I imagine Pengy and Bouba would form an excellent ‘odd couple’ comedy duo.

If you didn’t catch all the sordid details of Portsmouth’s debt I advise you to check out Football365 and The Guardian’s lists which cover most of the “what the f***?” aspects of who the club owes money to. It’s staggering that a team in the most high profile football league in the world can get away with being run so shabbily. For a country happy to nationalise things for the greater good, you’d think there would be stricter checks and balances in place to prevent 350K being owed to a masseuse, let alone ‘ransom payments’.

The past week’s results have set up the rest of the season beautifully now that everyone has everything to play for. Over a 38 game season, there’s not much more you can ask for than to have it come down to the last couple results to decide the lot.

I’m currently training up another gem of a player in FM (see my previous post on my youth development tactics). His name is Tiziano Dossena and, as you can see from the screenshot below, he is f**king mental. I nicked him off Brescia for a mere 3 million when he was 16 and then handed him 3 world class tutors to date. His avg rating is only 7.15 in this screenshot but over the rest of that season he topped out at around 8.00 and netted 30+ goals.
