After giving Martin Atkinson a good verbal bumming (verbal?) over his refereeing against Chelsea, the FA decided not to punish Alex Ferguson for his comments. Whaaa?

The only reason I can think of is some kind of misplaced enforcement of double-jeopardy where Fergie has shit on so many refs this season that they either have to ban him for the rest of the season or not ban him at all. Thus, not at all.

It’s getting to be a bit of a farce, the FA, FIFA and every other governing body refuse to adapt use technology or make any changes to help referees an impossible job - preferring to claim that the “human aspect” of football, i.e. blunders, is fundamental to the sport. Yet at the same time, they don’t want managers, players or fans complaining about the erroneous decisions that they have willfully allowed to happen. It’s not quite insult to injury, but it’s insult to something.

I say let them all go mental at each other, it’s far more entertaining.
