The Beckham Experiment Goes Wrong
A few weeks ago, a PR firm asked if I would like an advance copy of The Beckham Experiment which, of course, is now getting all sorts of press thanks to some rather antagonising comments from one Landon Donovan.
The book was meant to arrive by now and I’ve been quite excited to check out the rest of it, but sadly there seems to be some delay or shipping error. So while I was hoping to give you guys a full review of the book, I’ve had to hazard a guess instead. (UPDATE: my copy just arrived this morning, wahay)
This transfer window has been rather bollocks. Blockbuster transfers are only fun when the fee is a statement of intent of their desire to have that player, and where the club is sacrificing its financial status in order to move forward. But when City just up their price by 10 million every bid without blinking – what’s the fun in that? If Sunderland dropped 30 mill on a player, I’d crap my pants and immediately text everyone I’ve ever known. But City? Meh, so what? At least Real took some risk with their splurge by taking out some bank loans.
I can’t decide if these Nike Blazer Selvedge Denim’s are cool or not. I’ve bought my fair share of trainers that looked cool, even when I tried them on at the shop, but then never made it out of the box because there just never seemed an appropriate time to wear them. I think these might fall into that category. I’m also considering just sticking with white plimsoles for the rest of my life to save on cash and decision making time.
