So it turns out I couldn’t have timed my objections to the Chelsea-Liverpool Champions League draw any better as a ridiculous glut of goals and shocking defending led to a 7-5 aggregate score. So let me just go on record right now and say that I fully believe that I will never win the lottery. Let’s hope that one turns out just as well.

David Moyes has basically come out and called Mike Riley a United fan ahead of Everton’s FA Cup tie with the club. He claims a journalist asked him the question rather than posing it himself, but he also made this claim on Everton’s official website. Apparently subtly is not one of Moyes’ best attributes.

It’ll be interesting to see how Riley refs the game after this. He’ll certainly be cognizant of Moyes’ statement and it’s humanly impossible for it not to affect his performance one way or another whether he knows it or not. The winner will ultimately be the neutral viewers, as Riley is sure to cock up something and send everyone into a frenzy. I’m very excited.
