Green Point Stadium in Cape Town has remained on schedule for its 2009 completion since day 1. It has furthermore cut 76 days from its initial contractual completion date.
Currently the roof of the stadium is being lifted and by tomorrow will have reached its halfway height. Each and every milestone continues to be met ahead of schedule. The roof and facade will be fully complete by September 2009.

1 strike has taken place at the stadium which lasted about 1 week.
All other stadia will be completed well before Green Point Stadium, with four Confederations Cup venues to be used in June hosting rugby matches this very weekend.

In addition, PE, dropped as a Confederations Cup venue, for the tournament that takes place in June 2009, will in fact be hosting the British Lions….on 16 June 2009.

It is important that the correct and factual information is provided.
For more factual information including regular visual updates, webcams and images of each stadium project please visit: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=378

The final will be held in Johannesburg since its the historic and sentimental home of football in South Africa. FNB stadium/ Soccer City is also the largest venue in South Africa and will be located adjacent to the International Broadcast Centre and Main Press Centre.
It is accessible by rail and a new BRT system.
