Is there a more disagreeable fellow in football right now than Andrei Arshavin’s agent Dennis Lachter? The man has spent the last few months whoring out his client to anyone that will listen, while trying to engineer moves to about 900 different clubs at the same time. Yet he’s also managed to find time to complain about Zenit, accusing them of attempting to drive up Arshavin’s price and invite bids via the media. An agent pointing a finger at a club for trying to force interest in a player? What the hell?

I like a good transfer story as much as the next person, but I really wish AA would hurry the hell up and go somewhere. After all this hype, there’s next to no chance that he lives up to it and I’m quite sure it’s only a matter of time before Man City start raining money on Zenit and Lachter from the skies anyway.

In other news, Jermaine Defoe has gone back to Spurs for more than they sold him for a few months ago. Daniel Levy is attempting to make it seem like they are getting him for cheap since they are just forfeiting payments owed to them on previous player sales to Pompey, but anyone who isn’t a complete moron knows that payments forgone make the same impact on the bottom line as actual outlay.

We really need a big signing to shake up January, I’m just hoping Man City can oblige sooner rather than later.
